User interviews

UX team conducted user interviews with company employees and clients. The app is used by different user-profiles and thus their permissions and needs. Gathering the information in the interviews led us to create user personas in the next step.

User personas

User personas helped us to organize users by role and group the interview insights by topics. We focused on understanding and highlighting the prominent repeating insights. The insights were grouped into role description, responsibilities, pains, and needs.

Mapping the pains and needs

All gathered needs, pains, and eventual improvement opportunities were mapped based on the importance of user need and user satisfaction with current alternatives. This way we rationalized the selection of the issues we addressed and started to conceptualize.

Creating and user testing the prototypes

At the time there weren’t as many prototyping tools on the market as today. We used Axure to create prototypes and test concepts. User testing interactive prototypes at the time was the advanced method that made it possible to test interaction-dependent concepts like the improved menu and search feature.

Concepting the app modules upgrades with user testing

Based on the previous user research inputs, requests, and industry development were constantly improving and upgrading the app features. User testing the improvements and new features made it possible to design the requests with increased quality.
